“Your Love, Changed Me”

Shalom,

On this day's occasion we hear the word of God with the theme: "Your Love, Changed Me". Our reading is found in Ephesians 2: 1-10.

A fictional movie "Beauty and the Beast". Tell the story a handsome prince named Beast who had received the curse of a wizard, because of his arrogant attitude. Some time later, a woman named Belle who has a beautiful and graceful face has loved her. The sincere love of Belle has brought the Beast to death and has turned the Beast into a handsome prince again.

But more than that, there is God's love that has changed our lives. Ephesians 2: 1-10. It has been described by the incredible love of God that has transformed human life.

In verses 1-3, it describes the condition of man who had initially received the curse, sinned, and died. The status of man who has received the curse as a result of his disobedience to God. Humans follow the way of the world, obey the ruler of the celestial kingdom and obey their carnal desires.

But in the verse 4-6, the extraordinary love of God has been explained so clearly. Through His Son, Jesus who died on the cross and who has risen among the dead has changed our condition as sinful human beings. It's not all because of our efforts and our work, but completely because of God's love for us.

And verses 7-10 describe our new status redeemed by the blood of Jesus. His blood shed on the cross has saved us from the curse of sin and raises us to live with God in eternity.

And therefore we must give thanks to God, by living to do the good work that God prepared beforehand.
